Sigh the divorce agreement, or remain framed in jail for twenty years! Lucia chose to divorce. Not because she didn't love Klaus, her husband. But because she had to get out of the jail to take care of her newly-born son. However, she had never imagined Klaus would marry her sister and robbed her son away. Heartbroken and anxious, Lucia suffered a car accident. Everyone thought she died. However, life gave her another chance. She was saved and accepted cosmetic surgery. With this new beautiful face, she decided to take her son back and teach her ex-husband a lesson! Wait, she hadn't seen her son for once. Why did he call her mommy at the first sight?
At the women's prison, in the visiting room.
"Sign the divorce agreement, and I will get you out within ten days." Helena Sanders tossed a document onto the desk in front of Lucia Sanders, folding her arms with a triumphant smile. "If you don't, then you'll have to stay in jail for twenty years!"
Lucia's face turned pale, and her fingers were trembling. "I didn't kill that person. That car accident has nothing to do with me!"
"It doesn't matter. What matters is the fact that you are in prison now. If you don't sign the paper, then your newborn son will have no mother..."
At the mention of the child, Lucia suddenly clenched her fists.
Her child was less than a month old. He needed his mother...
"Besides, Klaus doesn't love you at all," Helena said coldly, "It's pointless for you to stay married to him. Klaus hates you and your worthless child. He is going to send the child abroad! Lucia Sanders, if you don't come out of prison to take care of him, no one knows how he'll end up..."
Lucia clenched her fists even tighter.Â
"This is a memorandum of understanding signed by the family members of the victim of the car accident." Helena tossed another document to Lucia. "If you agree to divorce Klaus, I will be able to get you out of prison immediately, so that you can reunite with your children."
Lucia closed her eyes. She had to do this for her innocent child.
"Okay."
She wrote her name on the divorce agreement and ended a short-lived marriage that had been tormenting her for the past few months.Â
Once she was done, Helena immediately took away the signed agreement. She stood up with an inscrutable smile on her face. "See you in ten days, Lucia."
Lucia spent the next ten days in unease and fear.Â
She always felt that things would not be this simple...
But fortunately, Helena did as she promised. Ten days later, Lucia was released from prison. A car was parked outside the prison to pick her up. The driver said he was sent by Helena to take her to the child.
Lucia had missed her child during her waking hours and dreamed about him in her sleep. Hearing what the driver had said, she got into the car without hesitation.Â
The driver started the car and drove towards the city center.
After half an hour, the car stopped in front of a hotel. Lucia said with confusion, "Aren't you taking me to see the child? Why stop here?"
The driver frowned slightly and said, "Miss Helena is hosting a celebration for your child now that he has turned a month old. It hasn't ended yet, so you can..."
A celebration?
Lucia entered the hotel with doubt and walked around. She went into the nearest banquet hall and saw Helena and Klaus Blackwood, who was holding her in an intimate manner.
Klaus wore a dark suit. His figure was tall and sturdy. There was a faint smile on his handsome face. He had a pair of upturned eyes that seemed devilishly charming. The look in his eyes appeared gleeful, but also chillingly cold.
"Thank you for coming to our engagement party... Klaus and I are honoured to have you with us today." Helena held Klaus's arm with a sweet smile.
Lucia froze. Her mind had turned blank. Suddenly, someone pushed her from behind. She staggered and slammed into the wine table by the door. The wine glasses and bottles fell and shattered on the floor.
It was a huge commotion.Â
"What's going on?" Someone exclaimed. A curious crowd immediately gathered around Lucia.
Helena also came over quickly.
Lucia looked up, and her face was pale. Someone recognized her. "Isn't this Lucia Sanders, who had killed someone in a car accident? What is she doing here?"
Helena approached her, yelled in surprise, and rushed over with a worried expression, "Sis, what's up with you?"
Despite wearing an expensive and exquisite dress, she squatted on the carpet drenched in liquor. "When did you get out of prison? Why didn't you say... Ahh!"
Before she finished speaking, she suddenly fell back, as if she was being pushed away hard.
But Lucia didn't do anything at all!
Helena fell onto the shards of the wine glasses and bottles behind her. Bloodstains emerged on her white dress...
"Lucia Sanders!" a furious male voice suddenly thundered.Â
Lucia's body immediately became stiff. This voice belonged to her ex-husband, Klaus...
